Classified Directory - both on and offline

118 500's classified directory service allows you to search - both online or if you dial 118 500 (call costs apply)- for any business by type without knowing a specific business name. Simply enter the type of business or service and the town or postcode you wish to locate and we'll do the rest.

As well as this new service you can still use residential and business directory enquiries.

Dialling 118 500

With an enhanced database and a highly trained team of directory enquiries operators, all 118 500 calls are answered by people, and you can ask for as many numbers or dialling codes per call as you wish. In addition, we now offer the following services:

Call Connect: We'll put you straight through to the number you want (after connection, calls continue to be charged at 64p per minute or part of a minute). Great if you're short of time or without pen and paper.
SMS: We'll text the number you want to your mobile free of charge. Ideal if you're on the move.

Other BT 118 services

Our directory enquiry service offers a personal service from highly trained operators 24 hours a day 365 days a year. For Welsh speakers we provide a UK service on 118 404, and for International Directory Enquiries just dial 118 505.

The UK service for the visually impaired, 195, will remain unchanged.

Calls to 118 500 cost 64p per minute or part thereof, with a 23p connection charge from BT landlines (excluding BT payphones). Mobiles and other networks may vary. Prices correct at time of publication (July 2008).
Calls to 118 404 (for Welsh speaking customers) cost the same as calls to 118 500
Calls to 118 505 (International Directory Enquiries) cost £1.99 per minute or part of a minute, plus a connection charge of 69p.

All call charges include VAT and are from BT landlines. Other mobile and network charges may vary.

118 707 lets you control and forecast your directory enquiry call costs through a fixed fee, one enquiry, directory service.

118 707 helps you manage the cost of your directory enquiries as the fixed fee avoids time related charges. The service is brought to you 24 hours a day by experienced agents and gives you direct access to UK business and residential numbers.

Calls cost 31.8p (inc. VAT)* for a single directory enquiry, from BT fixed lines.
